This report sets fourth all the research conducted by the Wilmington Race Riot Commission, as well as the 1898 Foundation. Each of the organizations work together to establish the Wilmington Race Riot Memorial. This report is essentially a mission statement of what they have planned to do to commemorate the event and also why they want to do so. The importance of the race riot in Wilmington is stressed in this report by explaining its significance throughout North Carolinian history.
